TEIS began life as the international section of the Turkish Pre-School, Pinokyo Özel Anaokulu which started in 1977 in Istanbul. Since it began TEIS has enjoyed an excellent reputation that continues to this day.

TEIS started as Pinocchio International School in 2001 as a section of this well-established and highly esteemed school.

Ms.Lale Ünaldý, who has been involved in education and schooling for 30 years moved TEIS to its purpose built new city campus in 2005, harbouring the 5th school under her care.

TEIS provides a happy, healthy, caring and stimulating environment that encourages positive self image and joy in the learning process.

We respect each child as an individual, coming from variety of cultural and social backgrounds, yet with unique personal qualities, learning styles, abilities and creativity. We believe that is our responsibility in the new millenium; to guide our young ones towards more modern concepts thus gaining the ability to think for themselves and become life long learners,in order to develop themselves as well as the society they live in.

Having fun is a focus each child has as they enter our doors; the education experience they receive, leaves with them as they exit
!
From the outset, TEIS became known for it’s attention to both the education and happiness of the children in it’s care.

The school quickly established itself as a popular choice for both foreign and Turkish national families. With each year the roll of students increased, and by 2005 it became clear that further expansion was necessary.
The new purpose built campus,1100 m2, is still very central, and conveniently located on the same street in 4.Levent. It is a beautiful building offering 11 large, light and airy classrooms, most with their own outdoor play extension.

The design is modern and child-centred, incorporating a dedicated library, sports hall and 1200 m2 garden, complete with ‘safety’ flooring.

Currently accepting children aged 2.5 –6 years, TEIS follows a British style curriculum and system, incorporating the first two classes of Primary - Reception and Year 1.
